This bone carving is a beautiful piece of  jewellery. The design has been stained to contrast and accentuate the pattern and add another layer of beauty. The binding is tight, which is paramount for a long-lasting Toki. This  necklace comes with a black wax cord. The height that the pendant hangs at can be adjusted using the sliding knots. Each piece is individually carved so slight variations can occur.

The Adze or Toki symbolizes strength as it represents the traditional Maori tool, whose blade had to be strong so as not to break when used.
